The Story behind the Shell Collection
This week, I wanted to share the story behind one of my most popular designs —
the Shell Necklace and Earrings.
The original shell that became these pieces was found during a long walk from Northton in Harris. We’d spent the day exploring the coastline, and on the way back to the car, I spotted this tiny shell lying in the sand. I tucked it into my pocket, as I’d been on the hunt for a shell small enough to make good earrings but that also had clear detailing. When I got back into the studio I knew it was perfect!
That little find has now been cast into Sterling Silver and 9ct Yellow Gold, creating detailed replicas that capture every ridge and curve of the original. Each piece is a small reminder of the beauty of the Hebridean coast.
