Each commission that we take on is a one-of-a-kind piece made by Alice specifically for you.
We are currently taking on a small amount of commissions. If you would like a piece of jewellery made specifically for you, please read the information below and book in an initial meeting.
How Does the Commission Process Work?
You get in touch with examples of Alice’s work that you love and let us know what you are looking for!
It is really helpful to know what the piece is for (e.g. wedding, engagement, birthday, treating yourself) so that we can guide you on options appropriately.
This bit is important - Please only send over examples of our work. Alice designs all of the jewellery and won’t copy anyone else’s work or work on a design you have made yourself or an AI design (yes, we have been asked to do this!)
Once we have an idea of what you are looking for, the team will send out a booking link for a commission meeting on zoom. This is to chat through options with Alice and to go through the process.
Now that we know more specifically what you are looking for, we will send you our design options. These are usually in the form of a graphic and will include quotes and any metal and/or gemstone options that have been discussed.
These designs can be altered once free of charge and any further changes will be charged at £30 per alteration.
At this point, we charge a 50% non-refundable deposit to get started on your new piece of jewellery. A payment link will be sent to you by the team or if you are local to Stornoway you are welcome to pay by cash/card at the studio. We do not accept any other form of payment.
Once your deposit has been paid, your commission will take around 8 weeks to complete. Please let us know if you have a specific date that you need your jewellery by!
We will make sure to send you progress photos throughout the process.
As soon as your commission has been completed and is ready to be posted to you, we will send you the final pictures.
If you are happy with everything, the team will then send you a link for the final payment. This will include the final 50% and any postage charges.
If your ring is suitable for resizing, we will do one resize free of charge. Any further alterations will be charged at our usual rate.
Frequently Asked Commission Questions
Can you reuse my old gold/silver or gemstones?
No, we don’t do remodelling work. We won’t use your old metal or gemstones.
I have found a piece of sea glass, can you use this in a piece of jewellery?
Yes! Please include a picture and sizing of your sea glass in the email when you get in touch.
If I source the gemstone will you set it?
No, we use trusted suppliers and will source all materials for our work.
How long will it take?
We take around 8 weeks to complete commissions. If you have a specific date that you need your jewellery by, please let us know when you get in touch.
