Meet the Team
Alice- Founder and Jewellery Designer
Alice started making jewellery at the start of 2021 and Alice Catherine Jewellery followed shortly after.
In 2022, Alice completed her Diploma in Silver Jewellery with Jewellers Academy.
At the same time, Alice left her full time job in Marketing and made the move to the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
When she is not making jewellery, Alice loves to spend time by the sea and she is becoming a little bit obsessed with spotting marine life.
Gemma- Studio Manager
Our lovely Studio Manager Gemma started with us in the summer of 2024 when the business became a little too much for Alice to manage on her own.
Gemma has a background of working in retail and makes sure everything is organised! Many of you may have met her while shopping in our Stornoway Studio.
Originally from Fife, Gemma moved to the Isle of Lewis a few years ago and is loving life here with her husband, three cats and five chickens!
Gillian- Bench Jeweller
Gillian has recently joined our little team as a Bench Jeweller based in our Stornoway Studio.
Picking up jewellery as a hobby as a teenager, Gillian has lots of experience in making! In 2017, Gillian completed a HNC in Jewellery at UHI.
As well as working for us, Gillian has her own jewellery business, Wild Shores, which also takes inspiration from the life on the Isle of Lewis.
Marketa- Remote Bench Jeweller
Marketa works with us to finish up and set stones in Alice’s designs. Based in Newquay in. Cornwall, Marketa works from her own studio where she also runs her own Ocean Inspired Jewellery Business, Booblinka.
After becoming fascinated with jewellery as a child, Marketa has gone on to study Silversmithing at Truro College and then completed a Fine Jewellery Diploma with Jewellers Academy.
Alice and Marketa met in 2022 at a jewellery event in London and kept in touch over the years. Marketa is always happy to share her jewellery making knowledge and we are so pleased to have her as part of our team.
Sian - Remote Marketing
Sian works with us to help Alice with her marketing schedule – she does most of our mailing list emails and helps with our social media.
Sian is the Marketing Manager for a busy adventure tourism company in the summer months and usually spends her winters snowboarding in the Alps.
Alice and Sian used to work in marketing together before Alice Catherine Jewellery was born and Sian still lives in Fort William where Alice is from. Sian loved Alice’s dog Chase so much that she eventually got her own sausage dog called Gus!
